
Dr. Ajay Israni

Dr. Ajay K. Israni is a Transplant Nephrologist, and Professor of Medicine with tenure and the Division Chief of Nephrology Division at the University of Texas Medical Branch.
He earned his M.D. from the New York University School of Medicine in 1995 with Honors in Genetics. He has been American Board of Medicine certified since 2001. Dr. Israni completed his Internal Medicine residency at Boston University School of Medicine and Chief Residency at Boston City Hospital. He then completed his Nephrology fellowship and Masters in Clinical Epidemiology at University of Pennsylvania.
He has also served as the Medical Director of the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients. He is the currently the Senior Staff for Special Studies at the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients.
