Dr. Hage is an expert in fungal infections and a successful clinical researcher in lung transplant with focus on clinical outcomes. He is an active participant is several multicenter studies including the Lung Transplant Outcome Group and ExtraCorporeal Photophoresis (ECP) trials in addition to the multicenter endemic mycoses study groups. These collaborative studies have produced several high impact papers and vastly contributed to the fields of fungal infections and lung transplant.

As the research director of the lung transplant program at Indiana University, he coordinated the clinical and translational research activities in the program across different disciplines and specialty areas, as the site-PI for a number of key clinical trials. In July 2022, I became the medical director of lung transplant at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and the medical director of the Lung Transplant Research Center at the University of Pittsburgh where he continues to work in lung transplant outcome research as his focus.
