Director of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics Laboratory

I am the director of a very active Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics Laboratory serving several transplant programs.

These programs include:

• Solid organ transplantation (Kidney, Pancreas, Heart, Lung, Liver, Small Bowel)
• Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation
• Cord blood bank
• Reference testing
• Bone marrow donor registry

Experience

• Extensive experience in Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics at different levels: directorship, specialist, and technical level.
• 30 years of experience in the field, teaching and training Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics for transplant physicians as well as fellows and technologists.
• Long experience in chairing and organizing scientific education events.

Certifications

• American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ASHI) certified inspector.
• College of American Pathologist (CAP) certified inspector.

Interests

My interest is focused on Transplant Immunology, Histocompatibility Testing, and Diagnostic Immunology.
