Dr. Saleh Alkhunein

Dr. Saleh Alkhunein is a prominent Consultant Neuro-anesthesiologist and Neuro-intensivist affiliated with the University of Toronto, currently practicing at the Prince Sultan Military Medical City (PSMMC) in Riyadh, under the Ministry of Defense. With extensive expertise in the fields of neuroanesthesia and critical care, Dr. Alkhunein holds several leadership positions, including President of the Saudi Anesthesia Scientific Council and Secretary General of the Saudi Anesthesia Society.

As the Head of the Neuroanesthesia Division at PSMMC, he is dedicated to advancing anesthesia practices and enhancing patient safety. He also oversees the Medical Malpractice Control Department at PSMMC, ensuring high standards of medical ethics and professional conduct. His contributions to the field extend to directorship roles within the Saudi Critical Care Ethics Chapter and membership in the Neurocritical Care Chapter, as well as the National Committee for Medical Ethics.

In addition to his clinical roles, Dr. Alkhunein is actively involved in academic curriculum design for various institutions, serving as a consultant for the Ministry of Defense and SCFHS. He is a member of the Arab Board for Anesthesia and Critical Care and participates in numerous committees focused on health leadership and medical education.

Dr. Alkhunein has made significant contributions to medical literature, including chapters in authoritative texts such as “Neuroanesthesia” by Cottrell, and he has published extensively on anesthesia and critical care topics. He is a sought-after speaker, sharing his knowledge at national and international conferences, symposia, courses, and workshops, and is committed to advancing the field through education and collaborative efforts.
