Valerie Cruz is a distinguished leader in the organ and tissue banking industry with over a decade of experience in regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and accreditation management. She currently serves as the CEO of Advanced Arthrosolutions & Tissue Biotechnology, and Top Health, where she is dedicated to bringing quality tissue allografts to communities that need them most.
As the former Director of Accreditation at the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB), Valerie played a pivotal role in setting and maintaining tissue banking standards, ensuring strict adherence to FDA regulations and AATB guidelines.
An internationally recognized expert, Valerie has served as a consultant to the Applied Radiation Biology and Radiotherapy Section of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Division of Human Health, and as a board member of the World Union of Tissue Banking Associations (WUTBA). In these roles, she collaborated with global leaders to harmonize tissue banking standards and advance best practices worldwide. Her extensive experience in quality process improvement, program administration, and strategic planning within the tissue banking field has been instrumental in shaping global tissue banking policies.
She has developed comprehensive strategies for accreditation and compliance, ensuring alignment with US FDA, ISO 13485, ISO 20387, and the Medical Device Single Audit Program (MDSAP).
A Certified Tissue Banking Specialist (CTBS), Valerie has made significant contributions to donor management and organ recovery through roles with metropolitan Organ Procurement Organizations (OPOs) in the United Stated. Valerie’s hands-on experience in clinical recovery coordination and donor evaluation has empowered her to work closely with healthcare professionals and regulatory authorities to enhance tissue banking protocols, advance public awareness, and promote global best practices. Her leadership continues to shape the future of tissue banking with a commitment to safety, efficacy, and ethical standards.
